I hate rats. No ifs, no when, no buts. I just hate them. Everywhere you turn, they are there, staring at you with their small beady eyes. They come in all colours; black, white, brown, yellow. They come near you anywhere and at any time. While you’re eating, walking on the road, driving, enjoying a cup of coffee, enjoying a quiet moment to yourself. This does not matter to them. They would sneak up to you and intrude on your thoughts and your conversations.

Rats are annoying creatures. They sit in their dark corners and twitch their noses waiting for you to release a nice, interesting morsel. As soon as your back is turned, they’ll snap at what is yours and claim it for their own. They’re an irritant on their own but they’ve even nastier when they’re in their groups. They sit unobtrusively but you know they’re just waiting to pounce on you. They want to make you believe they are harmless but sometimes you can feel them collecting information from you.

They make these irritating little squeaks and scamper around your heels, above your heads, behind you, beside you. When they’re among themselves, their squeaks get louder and they pretend to fear you but you just know they would destroy you if they could benefit themselves. They would probably like you to think that they are intelligent but in general, they just continue to amaze you of their absurdity. They gather in areas and squeak and squeak only to get caught in their own deviousness. Then they dare to declare themselves smarter, braver, kings.

Rats are not known for their honour. They are known to squeal over the slightest matter. They would take your things if it was easier than working for their own. They have a society of their own but keep trying to intrude on ours. They lack the social etiquette that other creatures have. They go where they’re not wanted. They annoy where they’re ignored. They will bite the hand that’s stupid enough to feed them.

Rats are nasty, self-centred, selfish creatures that think only of themselves and try too hard to be like others. They probably wish they were welcomed.

Rats are best avoided or ignored altogether. Destroying them would take too much energy considering the fact that we don’t care for them at all. Rats are sickening.

Don’t even get me started on stool pigeons.
